Thankfulness

To add to the things I was thankful for previously:

My humble home, small as it is. So many people are homeless...

The Promise of Heaven

A wonderful Labor Day party yesterday at the home of our son

Books - I LOVE books! Wanted to be a librarian but never finished the coursework. Life stood in the way, so I was the next best thing - a teacher.

A full refrigerator & pantry

Our pets - a Pomeranian, a chihuahua/dachshund, and a beautiful soft black & white kitty

Summer fruit

Fresh scrapbooking materials

Little gifts I find on sale that make my grandchildren happy

This is a huge one - my recovery from septic shock in 2008. From what I have read and viewed on medical shows since then, I know that many people do not recover from this illness. I thank God every day for my life.

Focusing on things to be thankful for is something we should do each day. How wonderful that you survived the septic shock. So glad you had a wonderful time at your sons house. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I am so glad that you survived!! Not only did my mom pass away from it (as you know), one of my friend's moms did too. I am so glad that you beat it, especially since we got to meet each other! :) I absolutely love books too! I would love to open up a Christian book store/boutique or something like that one day. That would be so fun!

I love reading thankful posts! This is beautiful. simple. and inspiring :) It makes me want to sit down and add to my own list of the millions of blessings I have. Nothing lifts us up like thankful hearts.

When I grumble, my husband often says softly, "Count your blessings." It's a cliche, but it's so true. Focus on the positive! Love your list : )

Hello my friend. I too am thankful for so many things, but in the chaos of every day life, it's hard to stop to remember to be thankful for all the little things. You have helped me. Thankyou for helping me be proud of my home (not just a house).

I was also reading your post about who will tend Meredith's grave, and to be honest, that is not something I had thought of. But it is so very important. I know the solution will come, and the earthly marker of Meredith's time will be cared for.

It warms my heart to know that after 37 years, Meredith can still bring tears to your eyes. If she didn't, then it would be a sad day indeed. It is testament to the love you have for her, and the profound effect she has had on you. Every tear is a little drop of love.

Go gently

Lovely post! I often get so caught-up in life's problems that I do not take the time to focus on all the good in my life. The hydrangea photo is gorgeous. Thank you so much for the book recommendation!!
